DuPage park districts organize teen texting contest

A bit like a spelling bee, a texting contest will give teens and tweens something to pique their interest.
Both speed and accuracy will be on the line for teens and preteens who participate in the competition Texting 1-3 pm on Saturday, July 23, at the Westmont Park District Community Center, 75 E. Richmond St. Westmont.
The challenge is action packed for students entering sixth through 12. Participants must use their mobile phones and are responsible for all costs incurred. The deadline for registration is Saturday, July 16, to one of five park districts. At the right price, the fee is $ 5 for residents of five districts, $ 10 for others.
"We will have rounds of the competition," said Golembiewski."For every mistake, you add two seconds on the clock. The person who finishes first gets three points, second place two points and third gets one point. "
The competition will take several turns and advances the highest score until only one person comes to mind.
